u r H i s t o r y
- The Shepherd's Nook is owned and operated by Tom and Jenni Hypes. Tom is the Youth Pastor at the Prospect Baptist Church in Prospect, Ohio and Jenni is the District Technology Coordinator for the River Valley Local School District in Marion, Ohio. Together, they support the ministry of The Shepherd's Nook. "The idea of a new Christian bookstore in the Marion area was layed on our hearts early in 2002. God has been working in our lives daily to help us make this idea a reality. With the help and support of family and friends we opened our doors to the public on May 8, 2002 and have met many incredible people through this ministry."

u r M i s s i o n
- We see The Shepherd's Nook as a ministry God has laid before us. Our mission is to provide Christian resources to help further the ministries of others. We pray the items in our store will touch Christians and non-Christians alike and that God's kingdom will be increased because of that.

u r T e s t i m o n y
- For
years, we had wished for a Christian bookstore of this
type in Marion but never really dreamed we would be the
ones called to make it happen. Thus starts the...
Testimony of a Bookstore:
Tom Hypes has been the Youth Pastor at the Prospect Baptist Church for the past several years. One of the recent Bible studies with the group covered Revelation, chapter 3 concerning the Church of Laodecia, the lukewarm church. A letter in which God calls us to be hot, not lukewarm where he is tempted to spit us out.
On the way home that night, Jenni Hypes mentioned to her husband that the study encouraged her to live a more active faith. That study led them to look into starting the Christian bookstore which God had laid on their hearts. They decided then to start looking into the possibility of doing so within the next few years. Within three months, the doors of The Shepherd's Nook were open.
Sometimes, God is waiting for us to take the first step of faith before the flood gates of blessings are opened to further His kingdom.
God is Good.... All the Time!
